Nabi is free to use, has no ads, and keeps an account only so your progress follows you between devices. These terms cover the parts that need saying properly — what you may do with the lessons, why the AI tutor should not be trusted with anything that matters, and what happens when you delete your account.
Effective 12 September 2026These terms are an agreement between you and Jisung Moon, the publisher of Nabi. By creating an account or continuing to use the app, you accept them.
If you do not agree, please stop using the app and delete your account from Settings → Privacy & data.
You must be old enough to consent to an online service where you live. If you are under that age, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms for you.
Nabi uses Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We never see or store your password — the provider confirms who you are, and we keep only the identifier they return plus the email address attached to it.
An account exists so your streak, stars and review schedule survive reinstalling the app or changing phone. Keep access to the sign-in provider you chose; if you lose it, we have no way to prove the account was yours and cannot transfer the progress on it.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
The app is free. There are no advertisements, no subscription, no paid tier and no locked lessons, and we do not sell your personal data.
That may not be true forever. If a paid feature is ever added, existing lessons stay free and we will say so in the app before anything changes — we will not quietly move content behind a paywall.
Use the app to learn Korean. That is the whole of the licence: personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable if you break these terms.
Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service, scrape or bulk-extract the lessons or audio, resell any part of it, or use the tutor to generate content that is illegal, abusive or intended to harass someone.
The lessons, audio recordings, artwork and the arrangement of the course are ours or our licensors'. Learning from them is the point; redistributing them as your own is not.
Conversations and pronunciation feedback are produced by a large language model — currently Google (Gemini on Vertex AI), reached through our own server. Language models are confidently wrong on a regular basis.
Treat its corrections as practice, not authority. Do not rely on it for translation that carries real consequences: legal documents, medical information, immigration paperwork, contracts or anything you would not want a fluent-sounding stranger to guess at.
The free tutor runs on a shared provider tier, and that provider may use the traffic to improve their models. If you would rather it did not, add your own API key in Settings → Use my own AI key and the requests go from your device on your own account instead.
Tutor availability, rate limits and the underlying model can change without notice.
Speech is recognised on your device. The audio itself is not uploaded, and we do not keep recordings of your voice.
The recognised text of a tutor conversation is sent to the AI provider so it can reply. We do not store those conversations; only the words you explicitly save for review are written to your account.
You keep ownership of anything you write. You give us permission to process it only as far as is needed to run the features you are using.
If you supply your own provider key, it is stored on your device and used to call that provider directly. We do not transmit it to our servers or see the traffic it produces.
Your agreement with that provider then governs those requests, including whatever they charge you. Usage on your own key is your cost, and we cannot refund or cap it.
We add, change and remove lessons, features and games as the course improves. We may pause or stop the service entirely.
We try to keep it running but promise no particular uptime. Nothing here is a guarantee that a specific feature will still exist tomorrow.
If we change these terms materially, the effective date at the top changes and the app tells you before the new version applies.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data. Deletion removes your profile, progress, streak and review schedule, and it cannot be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the lessons are free of errors, that the tutor is accurate, or that using the app will produce any particular level of Korean.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple or Google. They are not responsible for the app or for supporting it, though Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary of the version you obtained from the App Store.
Your use also has to follow the app store rules that applied when you installed it.
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
